she wanted him to realize his importance too. she snuggled against his chest, hiding her face in it. douchebag, an insomniac for years, was finally showing fatigue due to her current condition.

"oh -- are you alright. please don't worry about me, darling. this is about you right now. you need comfort, not me," she protested gently, but too exhausted to struggle.

instead her head found its way onto his shoulder. this was comfortable.

the blonde hedgehog was basically against him like glue, but would back off if he wanted her to. douchebag calmly took both of his hands and pressed little kisses to his face. she finally collapsed against him, showing small signs of exhaustion, yet wanting to be his anchor.

chirping at him and nudging against his chest with her head. she moved a bit before getting comfortable. she felt embarrassed for acting this way, but the hedgehog wanted to steal his company before he had to leave again. she was much calmer now.

"i love you too, shadow."

a pause before she cuddled against him. she missed him, and she wanted to be as close as possible before he had to go again. maybe the pregnancy makes her a bit emotional, but only around him.

douchebag slowly glanced at him, inched closer, and wrapped her arms around him. pressing a delicate kiss to his temple. maybe in case something happens.

"thank you. . . . that is all i ask," she mumbled, ready to pull away if he wanted her to.

"i won't get into your business, and i won't try to stop you. . . but please stay safe. that is all i ask, shadow. . . . sol douchebag is my complete opposite. that's all you need to know right now," she murmured, apathetic eyes gazing off into the horizon.
