I tend to romance everyone until I can't anymore.

In the last 20 years or so a lot of libraries have moved to using "teen" because that's how teens refer to themselves. More and more libraries are creating middle grade and new adult sections to help folks find the books they want more easily.

As a former teen services librarian, I can say that most librarians could not give you a good answer. Anecdotally - I think we used to use "young adult" because we thought teenagers wanted to be more mature. YALSA (Young Adult Library Association) claims ages 12-18.
