This is my mission. I wake every day ready to fight, and I need you to join me. All you have to do is reject the notion that we have to accept hatred. Stand up to bullies, and defend those that can’t defend themselves.

As someone who has dedicates their life to this game, I wont accept that. You shouldn’t either. If you love martial arts you have to stand up for its integrity. You have to ensure we empower people for good, and not to divide our society.

That vulnerability is under attack. It’s being intentionally targeted with lies and false narratives.

You want to be apart of this thing you love and embrace the people in it, and that is the door that opens a heart and mind to hatred. Your passion can be a stength, but also a vulnerability.

There are those that want you to embrace hatred. They will be wrapped in a gi and selling you instructionals. They will be supported by major organizations and declared as hero’s by people in the community.

The love and excitement people feel - they look to those in the game as anchors for their passion.

What are those anchors saying? What values are they pushing?

These things are incompatible with the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that I love and teach.
Yet, they are a threat. That obsession with this game is real. That empowerment changes you. And those feelings are projected onto the people you train with, your coaches, your community, and the leaders in the sport

Nationalism is on the rise, and it has a clear partner in the UFC. As rights are stripped and histories erased, it’s all cheered on by a chorus of the UFC roster.

MMA fighters are expressing their admiration for Hitler. They are being convicted of rape and being invited to the White House. Fighters are pushing unhealthy, extremely toxic and abusive alpha male nonsense as Dana White hugs Andrew Tate and welcomes him to the states.

There is an onslaught of bullshit infiltrating our community. Conspiracy theories are being spread by leaders of the sport. Racism, misogyny, and homophobia are becoming common place. Bare minimum, considered acceptable.

I lay out my passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to paint a picture. This is what I love, and this is what I will fight to protect.
