β€œI am somebody” shaped how millions of us saw ourselves as kids, including me. That message mattered. It still does.

The United States has officially withdrawn from the World Health Organization.

This is a shameful move that puts both Americans and people all over the world at greater risk from disease outbreaks, which require international collaboration to contain.

I am sick about the gun violence at Brown and praying for the entire community.
Traveling with a Brown student right now and watching the messages being relayed in real time is devastating .
Our children and our country deserve so much better.

Zoe Weissman, a sophomore at Brown University, joins us to discuss the shooting on Brown's campus in Providence, Rhode Island. She was in middle school in Parkland, Florida during the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School massacre. She is now an advocate for gun control and gun violence prevention.

A country that watches these massacres happen again and again, in every imaginable setting, and doesn't do everything it can to stop another one, has failed. There's no other way to say it.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone β€” period.

Despite what the Senate Majority Whip says in this interview, my 340B drug pricing bill did pass the House. It took effect Oct 1 and is already helping our hospitals and health centers! As you can see, it was award-winning legislation!

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Dear @apnews.com

The republicans control congress. Democrats did not vote down anything. If the GOP wanted to fund the government, they could have changed the rules to pass a CR with a simple majority like they did 11 days ago to approve 48 trump appointees at once.

Fix your headline.

The Minnesota assassin appears to be a hate-filled right winger. So can we stop walking on eggshells about MAGA's legitimization of political violence?

Yes, Republicans have also been the target of inexcusable violence, but this isn't a "both sides" issue.

As a result, thousands of transgender service members will be discharged from the military while litigation proceeds in the lower courts.
People who volunteered to risk their lives for their country will be cruelly punished simply for who they are. People like Emily Shilling, the named plaintiff in this case-a transgender woman who has served as a naval aviator for 19 years, flown more than 60 combat missions, logged 1,750 flight hours in Navy jets, and earned three Air Medals. The Navy has spent $20 million training her. Soon, she will be forced out of service entirely. If the Supreme Court was going to condone this self-defeating act of invidious discrimination, the least it could have done was explain why. J

Thousands of transgender troops who have served our nation honorably will soon be purged from the military because of their identity. It is shameful that the Supreme Court’s majority won’t even explain why it greenlit this mass act of unconstitutional discrimination. slate.com/news-and-pol...
