I'm in a similar spot surviving in entry level creative but I dont know if it's fair to say creatives hit their peak at 30. Plenty of artists throughout history have lots of meaningful works in their later years. Some of my favorite comics are from people in their 40s and 50s when they made them.

Wicked: I was late to the party and only saw the second in theaters. Many people have much more intelligent things to say about both the musical and the movies than I do. But Cynthia Erivo's performance was gripping.

Merrily We Roll Along: Had to see it in theaters and wish there were more wide shots but sincerely enjoyed the performances.

Mage and the Endless Unknown by SJ Miller: a Horror comic with out words for most of the read just striking visuals to get lost in as the character gets lost themselves.

Peak: An adorable collaborative game about climbing a mountain. This gem has been a great third place for friends who are to far to visit on a regular basis.

Absolute Batman #1, Absolute WonderWoman #1, Absolute Superman #1

Reflection on some of the art I loved this year, The Absolute Series: These books examine what is the self through inconic characters. I want more mainstream comics to lean into the damage that the current administration and billionaires are creating for the everyday person.

My partner and I gave our 1 year old nephew the pokemon starter pushies as a Christmas present this year. And much to his fathers joy, I can report the Squirtle Squad had a new member.

Finished reading a copy my library had a few days ago. I gained so much insight and quickly understood why my pages weren't looking right. Saving the link so I can get a copy for myself after the holidays.

Something on a page is better than nothing. You can always redraw that something later.

Tuesday Tip:

"You can edit it later" applies to comic book artists, too.

The only way to start a comic book page is to draw something on it. Even if you redraw it later.
