I used to have to explain to people that I grew up in a town called Intercourse.
North of Intercourse was Blue Ball.
South was Paradise. No one believed me.

When part of of the movie Witness was filmed in my hometown of Intercourse, Pennsylvania, they made these shirts for the cast and crew because, in that area, my last name was as common as Jones. I assume it still is. Amish families weren't notable for their lack of offspring.

Hate is a LOT of work.

In my dive into late 19th century politics and seeing how the chambers of Congress behaved, largely to the better of all of governance, seeing this kind of rebuke soothes my soul.

One very small additional note, in the movie the scenes in the phone booth were filmed in Intercourse. But producers were like "No one is going to take it seriously" so they used the name Strasburgh, a town a few miles away, when referring to where the phone booth was.

That fight scene was in front of a house that was a quarter of a mile up the street from my house in front of a hair salon. They offered the hair salon $500, and the owner declined to take payment as long as she got a signed pic of her with Ford.
