4) #ChildSafety continues to be a focus for the industry, but we need to make sure we are thinking about this holistically with evidence based policy and implementation. We need to consider privacy, security, accessibility and usability alongside safety. We need a human rights based approach here.

3) #AI risks and opportunities are at an incredibly important moment. The next 12 months will really set the table for what AI safety looks like and right now, product teams are shipping so fast (esp #AgenticAI product) that it is exceptionally hard for safety teams to manage the risk effectively

2) Budgets, headcount, resources, compute etc are all constrained. In #Trust&Safety We are all being asked to do more with less in an increasingly complex environment

#TrustCon reflections:

1) Omg people are doing some great work and a lot to keep us safe in the face of incredible headwinds

I think I’d summarize my first #trustcon as the loveliest of people discussing the darkest of topics. It’s truly something else ♥️

4) #ChildSafety is one area that we need more data driven policy and implementation - too many systems and regulations are not evidence based and the privacy tradeoffs don’t make good sense

3) @roost.tools have the potentials to make massive impact on these fundamentals but need buy in and engagement from Safety teams and critically the Safety Engineers.

2) Many teams still struggle with the fundamentals of safety because each team has built up functionality and processes quickly in response to events or product changes and so there are gaps left between capabilities at even the biggest companies.

#TrustCon day one reflections:
1) #AI safety is a thing the whole industry are grappling with and an area where fast moving product deliver is causing real challenges for safety teams.

Side-note, this is also how I look at the way in which people come to practice hateful and supremacist beliefs; it’s not a case of stupid people being infected by memes, instead people learn from the behavior of other people in the communities they associate with about how to act toward other humans
