I can't help but wonder if he didn't negotiate better because he knew enough dems were going to vote yes, so he could safely vote no and neither be held responsible for caving nor for "allowing" the shutdown to continue. But I don't follow his actions closely enough to know.

Seems to me like the whole point of this one-year bill is so the Reps can have something to point to when they're accused of not caring about healthcare, and they can blame the Dems for not passing it.

The person who got shot said "I live here" clearly in the video. Make sure you watch the whole thing before commenting.

In an effort to help me focus, I'm trying to use a strict schedule for my working hours. I'm finding it is helpful for staying on task, but it's really cutting into my "sitting here staring moodily out the window" time.

They could be the grouchiest, most unfriendly person with the highest support needs possible, & not a single person would have the right to say “alright, since nobody benefits from this person’s existence, NOW it’s okay to dehumanize them”.

There is no condition under which eugenics is acceptable.

The simple fact is that nobody has the right to decide that another person’s life isn’t worth living.

For two, both comments are still very pro-capitalist, in that they determine the value of a human life by how much others can exploit or benefit from it.

For one, the first comment serves to promote aspie-supremacict perspectives, as it only separates LSN folk from MHSN folk, which is exactly what happened in the holocaust.

I keep seeing well-meaning comments like “I’m autistic and I pay taxes” or “autistic people w/ high support needs still provide value to others through friendship”, and I cannot stress how frustrating it is to me to see this rhetoric being so widely tossed around and celebrated.
