Today, the National Guard has been deployed to Los Angeles, against Brown Folks, in response to the I.C.E. Protest. They’re labeled, “violent insurrectionist mobs.”

If you’re against police terrorism, you have to understand that I.C.E. and the local police are both law enforcement agencies, paid for by the government (one the federal government. Both have access to military-grade weapons. Both disproportionately targeted and terrorize Black and Brown folks.

There’s a difference between “peace” and avoiding conversations that are uncomfortable, but vital to evolving. That are vital to combating oppressive systems, individuals, and governments.

Don’t confuse avoidance with securing “peace.”
