I don’t have kids but I would rather simply perish than wake up at 3:30 to work more.

I also assume not but he does keep saying state which implies voting!

Get 30 million people with socialized medicine in the voting pool. Will turn out great for Republicans.

My brain immediately filled in “At the Pink Pony Club” after reading this skeet.

This is not a life. It’s algorithmic self fulfilling prophecies and radicalization. Horrid.

Jesus was a political radical who attacked the financial system when he found it too cozy with religion and hung out with the people society despised.

This isn’t even a deep reading of the Bible. This is purely textual. There’s Andrew Lloyd Webber songs about it!

Unfortunately the movie has been in production for probably a decade at this point. I hope we get the film because the book is BRILLIANT but just lower your expectations.

And I say this as someone who didn’t support the TikTok ban and thought there was not nearly enough evidence of a problem. But this isn’t how the system is meant to work.

None of this is good. On any level beyond bread and circuses.

I have no position on what should happen to TikTok, but the Senator should be more concerned IMO with the way this is going down, with Trump promising to ignore the law, and instead personally broker a deal, and TikTok praising him publicly for it. Explain why this is all kosher please.

Mr. Zuckerberg was amenable. He signaled to Mr. Miller and his colleagues, including other senior Trump advisers, that he would do nothing to obstruct the Trump agenda, according to three people with knowledge of the meeting, who asked for anonymity to discuss a private conversation. Mr. Zuckerberg said he would instead focus solely on building tech products.

Mr. Zuckerberg blamed his former chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg, for Facebook’s culture, according to one of the people with knowledge of the meeting. He said new guidelines and a series of layoffs amounted to a reset and that more changes were coming.

It really is such masculine energy to blame things on a woman who no longer works at the company www.nytimes.com/2025/01/16/u...

On the one hand, I don’t think there’s a great reason to ban TikTok.

On the other hand, this whole thing seems to be making a lot of people sympathetic to the Chinese government which is … not … great.

Your regular, unfriendly reminder that businesses do not have to offer free speech, save for not engaging in discriminatory actions in hiring and services.

My favorite part of Zuckerberg's Joe Rogan interview is when he suggests there is not enough masculine energy at his company, where two out of every three employees is a man.

Meta and McDonald’s never cared about DEI.

They don’t care about “free speech” now.

They care about the way they can maximize shareholder value.

That’s it. That’s what corporations do.

Tbh I don’t think these changes are seismic. When was the last time you saw a fact check? How many hideously sexist/racist/transphobic comments have you seen? But making them policy is different!

It’s okay to actually believe the things you’re doing. I say this as someone who isn’t leaving Meta. But do I believe some people are doing it for principled reasons? Sure!
