And I say this as someone who didn’t support the TikTok ban and thought there was not nearly enough evidence of a problem. But this isn’t how the system is meant to work.
None of this is good. On any level beyond bread and circuses.
I have no position on what should happen to TikTok, but the Senator should be more concerned IMO with the way this is going down, with Trump promising to ignore the law, and instead personally broker a deal, and TikTok praising him publicly for it. Explain why this is all kosher please.

On the one hand, I don’t think there’s a great reason to ban TikTok.
On the other hand, this whole thing seems to be making a lot of people sympathetic to the Chinese government which is … not … great.

Tbh I don’t think these changes are seismic. When was the last time you saw a fact check? How many hideously sexist/racist/transphobic comments have you seen? But making them policy is different!
It’s okay to actually believe the things you’re doing. I say this as someone who isn’t leaving Meta. But do I believe some people are doing it for principled reasons? Sure!
