Well the clouds did eventually clear again, but as I didn't set up the Eq mount, this is the best I could manage, with the limb cut off due to it drifting across the eyepiece field. #lunareclipse 🔭 #astrophotograohy

I've just been back outside. Seriously thick cloud covering the sky, but I could still easily see bright Jupiter despite the thickness. 🔭 🧪

A photo of... a magma ocean?! Not quite, because that would be a really difficult picture to take since we do not have any on hand. Instead, this is a photo that was taken in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, in May 1954 during the eruption of the Kilauea Volcano. Tonight the Waxing Gibbous Moon appears close to Regulus (Alpha Leonis). Also Jupiter continues to be a fine sight as a triangle with Castor and Pollux. 🔭 🧪
