As an ex Mormon myself, I can tell you that I am very careful about what I commit to. So if I commit to showing up for something, it's because I want to do it. If I don't want to do it, I say no and don't go. Took me forty years to learn this magic.

We had four counter protesters in Silverton. One decided it would be smart to bring his gun. The police didn't agree. One kid just stood there with an American flag the whole time. Took me an hour to realize he wasn't with the rest of us. Very effective...

Not gonna lie, Ottawa has shaken me a couple of times. The housing problem is getting out of control there and I have felt unsafe. And I'm not a normally paranoid person.

But I wouldn't call it a war zone. 🤷‍♀️

Our local police ticketed two upstanding citizens for excessive engine noise when they decided to rev at us. They also moved the tiny counter protest (two people) further up the hill.

Except that Mormons don't really have canon. There seems to be no official doctrine. Just the current work of the correlation committee, or the words of a general authority until it is decided that he was just speaking as a man.
