I, too, have a few shirts in this kind of shape where the design is flaking off, but at this point with as many shirts as I own, I don't think I'll try to replace them! 😀

But it's really because (I'm gesturing at myself): "This... is always on."

Yes, indeed - I discuss the "real world time" aspect and how it related to these other concepts in the video, and why that kind of thing is baked into the rules.

In Advanced D&D, you paid gold to level up. Your character aged. They could get sick. Time kept moving.

I think those rules were meant to keep the campaign world bigger than any one hero.

Thanks! It was fun to find it in his place. It's interesting because I don't recall him wearing this one, but his wife did, but based on the size, I'm pretty sure he must have bought it for himself, as she is very petite.

I'm a 5:1 ratio guy (Gin: Vermouth), but I've dabbled with 7:1. In my younger, less experienced days I'd order what I thought was "cool": a Grey Goose "Vodka Martini" (no such thing) with no vermouth & 2 olives. Then I learned that for years I was overpaying for a glass of cold vodka.

He really was, especially later on. At his funeral, one of my friends (asked me to run a 1-shot D&D for his 50th ) mentioned how my dad "showed up" and learned what I was interested in and did his best to try to support. He never got into D&D, but we talked jazz, cocktails, & superheroes.
