This was the plot of Love Island; Skelligs edition. Unfortunately, a number of women died of exposure on the first night due to confusion over appropriate attire for Atlantic islands.
The rest succumbed to embarrassment on the second.
It's said the men are still there, reverting to Kerry Feral.
This is the future liberals want.

I'm reminded of a nurse, whose 15 year old sister was pregnant in the 1960s. She was able to ask around and find which mother & baby home had the lowest death rate, to find the best outcome for them both.
That many of these homes killed children was not a secret. It was the whole point.
Weird that the main photo is of a datacenters, which is covered by EU cap & trade, so has nothing to do with Ireland's own emissions.

Loved the stand up show we did at Dad's funeral. Five kids, all trying to upstand each other with jokes and funny stories. I think the session lasted until 02:00. Bar staff never kick out a funeral party if they knew the deceased.
Hope your day will be closer to that, than a typical English one.
"I'll change the locks changed and all your stuff ready to collect when you get back".
And definitely. Some get lost and never make it home. I think some cyclists are taken by the sídhe.
I think it's that people's partners realise "huh, the person I thought I would spend the rest of my life with prefers spending eight hours every weekend with strangers".
Which..uh...used to be golf. And one they, they get told "yeah, no problem, do your cycle from Paris to Brest next weekend."
Keep that up, and you might win that chamber of commerce prize that's eluded you to date.

And tired, i suppose. He's getting ready for retirement. Don't rock the boat. Don't mess with the legacy.
It's stunning that this government has passed less legislation per year than any government since the foundation of the state.
Wow. This is fantastic.

03.01.2026 12:29 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Love this idea. Neal Stephenson's "Baroque" showed you could have 2000 pages of joy without an arc, following a character who learned nothing. But the reader was left changed, because you learned so much about how society's perceptions changed.
31.12.2025 17:33 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Isn't the ideology that sees the good of the state to be more important than the good of the citizens of that state to be literally fascism ? Actually described in the founding document for Fine Gael, where they described the importance of letting people starve if it resulted in economic growth?

To be fair, you can have a rubbish teacher, and it kills the love for the subject.
I thought I was bad at maths. Got 22% in honours maths for the leaving. Ma bullied me into grinds. Maybe 30 hours total with a good teacher. Must have cost her a fortune back then. Ended up with an A of some sort.
I'm reminded of the Frankie Boyle skit where he talks about American war movies, and the soldiers blow an unsuspecting country to pieces....and 20 years later they realise how sad it made them.
