Ahhh no that’s ok, thanks for the explanation. Until I upgrade my watch I’ll use Workouts for anything I desperately want to keep the track for (which is not many tbh). The important stuff is the effort and that IS recorded, so we’re good. Thanks!

Sometimes (?) when this happens I observe that the watch is still processing the workout - here is a screenshot:

@gentler.app hi there… I have an Apple Watch + iPhone, everything up to date. When cycling, sometimes my GPS track doesn’t come through to the workout summary (even though the correct kms are recorded).

Lots of rabbits, but also some of that lovely golden evening light.

The rātā forests of South Westland are in full summmer plumage, a red band moving higher up the mountain as the weeks pass.

Then it heard something in the pōhutukawa and silently flew off to investigate.

I wished I had my phone on me.

The dog meanwhile just kept snuffling about looking for the right spot, and eventually found it.

It looked at me a couple times (eyes pink in my headlight) and just chilled for a bit.

It was so spookily quiet. I did my best impression of a ruru call, which prompted another, perhaps very sceptical, look.

Nighttime wildlife encounter: on the back lawn in the dark just now there was a soft wingbeat and a ruru (small NZ native owl) landed on our clothesline a metre or two away from me, seemingly to check out the dog doing her pre-bed time necessary thing.

A purple metal 75% keyboard with some specially printed keycaps in the shape and general colours of the Wā Kāinga flag: red and blue triangles occupying the upper left and right corners with a black triangle in the middle. The triangles are separated by white.

The keycaps finally arrived, and they look exactly as I expected (which is to say, I'm still not sure about them).

Should certainly be an office conversation piece at least.

To be fair they are that as well! It’s not the rabbit’s fault some dumbass immigrant ancestors of mine brought them to these islands. 🙂

Rabbits are a bit of a pest here. They eat the grass to the ground and trigger erosion, and then also cause population peaks in predator animals like ferrets and stoats that go on to eat our native birds. By late summer I usually count up to 150 on the same route.
