The path that runs from the Car Park to the golf course will be closed (at the point marked on the map below) - for most of today for some urgent tree safety work. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Christmas Day - weather alert - Strong winds are forecast with gusts of 35mph or more around lunchtime. Please keep away from wooded areas and trees. The Ranger’s Office will be closed, but a Duty Officer is on call if needed: 020 8788 7655. Take care and have a wonderful Christmas!

Despite getting the all clear on the Brook this morning, the rain today has caused another issue. It has been reported to the EA. The water is discoloured but it's not clear why.
We recommend keeping out of the water for the time-being.

Dog-owners/walkers, please do read this article by Steve Jenkinson for Natural England with his tips for happy, healthy dog walks this summer. We would add flea and tick treatments. Spot-on treatments are catastrophic for pondlife - if you use them - keep dogs out of water. bit.ly/45ATbwS

Woodchip from our tree safety work is available for you to collect. You'll need to bring your own equipment. It's free but the charity that cares for the Commons is grateful for your donations. Every donation helps care for this wonderful place including its 290 hectares of woodland habitat.

The Brook is currently running higher than expected and is slightly discoloured. It has been reported to the Environment Agency. Until the situation is resolved, we suggest keeping yourselves and your dogs out of the Brook. We will keep you updated.
