Tom Cartos maps are just so damn gooood!
I've used some of his maps and will surely use more. They come in practical sizes, are simple enough to grasp quickly yet cluttered enough to feel alive.

The Ryokan is an ideal stop for travellers on their journey. Although simple in its furnishing and appearance, a comfortable, quiet night is all but guaranteed. So much so that families are known to frequent them to avoid the inns and taverns favoured by adventuring parties and less savoury folks.

This small mine has been abandoned for years by the nearby town of maker-elves. They were searching for a deposit or rare minerals for their craft but gave up when it became clear that the dig was a dud. Mostly forgotten by the remote community, the tunnels have been taken over by a pair of Yeti.
