Please note: I don't have the solution. But it is absolutely the explanation for why I have to mitigate my exposure on these platforms. It rarely gives me anything and it feels like a vampiric force.

I'm not saying don't be entertaining or clever... please do. I just don't see a healthy out.

The worst of this is the current model of having to be "in the feed all the time", so you get endless repetition of the same thing while people doom scroll endlessly like dopamine hit seeking monkeys.

Huxley called it in 1932, it is just a different kind of drug.

From a larger perspective, the idea of social media was to connect with other human beings. Naturally artists, creative people & those interested in art would want to connect w/ each other. But now we are in a death spiral of reactions, hot takes & nonsense that exists at the same level as the art.

One of the bigger problems I have with "social media" is that i'm really not here to be entertained, especially by short form video. Not everybody should be an entertainer. It is ok! When everything is at the same volume, nothing is really that important.

It isn't sustainable or healthy.
