Letter from Clive Lewis MP to the Minister for Women and Equalities, dated 29 July 2025, raising concern that the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s revised Code of Practice may receive ministerial approval before being seen by MPs or the public. The letter calls for parliamentary scrutiny and asks whether the Government will present the changes to Parliament before approval

Deeply concerned that changes to trans rights could be approved without MPs or the public seeing details. This risks undermining accountability on issues affecting lives and freedoms. Proposals must face scrutiny before approval. Everyone deserves to know what’s being decided in their name.
