That's a valid point, I never thought too much about how it was being developed during the pandemic

I guess each artist has it's way of working, I personally can't imagine not sending the process, The uncertainty would cause me a lot of stress lol

That's why I try to ask for feedback and show options as much as possible (unless the client really don't want to chat or doesn't mind giving /wants to give me artistic freedom).

That's also why I prefer to communicate with clients through discord than email lol

Yeah, i think ppl didn't really understand the situation, tpc was clear about what happened but not everyone understands the illustration process and the ethics behind tracing, they just think "but the artist traced anyway" without considering that that's necessarily what was asked from her

This one even had a fanmade art figure, I can totally see someone mistaking it for an official licenced product

Not trying to side with them or anything tho, what happened was wrong, I hope it won't repeat

Also, I'm satisfied about how they handled the situation, any other company would either not address the situation (since technically the art was never officially public) or blame the artist

I still think either the art director didn't knew it was fan art or it's a new person who thought it'd be ok. It's been years of Pokemon TCG and it's the first time it happened (that i know at least). And they're very very strict with their art
