It’s probably why the Aussies have innovated with different kicking styles to get the ball onto the boot quicker and bamboozle the receiving team with tricky bounces, backward ball spins etc. having played myself, visibility out of the helmet grille is low!!

The helmet is not good for peripheral vision. Punters are there to do one job…receive the long snap and kick the football.

Both our clubs (Essendon and Carlton) are currently in irrelevancy but it only takes half a season for things to click and build momentum for sustained success. It’s happened many times since 2000. Brisbane 2002, Geelong 07, Richmond 17 are all examples of that.

It would leave a sour taste if he won the Brownlow-Premiership-Norm Smith treble. He is a really poor influence on/example to younger players coming through, and young boys in general.
