I've been doing this for a while and you're probably the only person who's ever mentioned making the editors life better. I hope that we can become friends now.

Been struggling to find work lately. VO editing and actual work. Jobs suck shit to search for and audio editing isn't the most in demand job. Maybe it's time to just give up audio? I've been thinking of it for a long time now and it might be the right move for now. Software is expensive.

As an audio engineer I agree. Even something like audacity is a better option.

I mentioned it in the comments of the stream and hope that's enough to uphold my reputation. I'm very embarrassed by the explanation I gave and sound like an amateur. I've been doing audio for a decade now and hope that it doesn't represent me as an audio engineer.

I did a stream in which I went over the technical side of recording VO from home. I was very tired when I did it and messed up my explanation on phase cancelation and constructive interference. I also said something wrong about output converters. I fear sharing it due to that.

Set your gain for your loudest lines and record at 48khz 24bit. The dynamic range of 24bit will allow you to manipulate the volume in post without worry. Whispering is as much mic technique as it is acting( just get close to the mic) Echo is much more than I can explain here in 200 characters.

It's freaking crazy to see that VAs need to know how to act, mic technique, record, and be an audio engineer. VA work and audio engineering are necessary but asking the talent to do it is such BS.

I've been working on a proper method of teaching VAs how to record and setup their equipment. I'd like some examples of questions that VAs might have. #voiceactor #asmr #editor
