If they were duplicative, they would release them because disclosure of duplicative records wouldn't hurt Trump. they're hiding them because they're non-duplicative and they hurt Trump.

I'd say, "Don't give them ideas," but it's probably already in ALEC's master plan to distract people from their goal of privatizing Idaho's public lands.

Anti-trans injustice causes nausea, not people writing about it. Keep up the good work.

Hello! I’m the reporter who has been tracking citizens detained by immigration agents. And last night, I noticed something: A lot of them were at the State of the Union, including a number of whom I’ve written about.

Their stories should be known:

Versions of the ABA Model Rules apply in the states, so not obeying them could lead to lawyer discipline, like suspension or disbarment.

Rule 1.13: Organization as Client Client-Lawyer Relationship | A lawyer employed or retained by an organization represents the organization acting through its duly authorized constituents...

IDK if it's normal, but DoJ conflicted, so it's practically required. See ABA Model Rule 1.13(f), link here, www.americanbar.org/groups/profe..., and especially comments 9 and 10, here: www.americanbar.org/groups/profe...

I can't speak for Denver, but around here, my kids hate losing skiing, and I'd gladly shovel the driveway and sidewalks more for their sake.

Third American death linked to ice uncovered by Newsweek While the 23-year-old's death was reported in March 2025, it was not made clear that a federal agent fired the fatal shot.

DHS successfullyβ€”until nowβ€”covered up the murder of a third US citizen on Texas' Padre Island, the sort of thing that can only happen in GOP-ruled Texas. ICE agents shot and killed Ruben Ray Martinez, 23, last year, but DHS covered up the whole incident, Newsweek reports.

I can think of two possibilities:
1. The people involved are really stupid.
2. The people involved care about being blamed for publicizing the interview, not about how much publicity the interview gets.

Lutnick: "I left with all of MY children."
Certainly makes me wonder if he knew about other children and maybe even brought some.

Marc Bloch was one of the greats, an intellectual who didn't sit in his armchair. We studied him a lot in my undergraduate course of study, and a lot of it came back when I moved to Louisiana. French rural society from a long time ago is recognizable in much of Louisiana today.

Interesting! Maybe also she knows more about the risks and what her husband can do than we do. I am a very mediocre skier and a view that would terrify me would make Lindsey Vonn say, "Boring! I can do it on one ski." And she could.

I can't watch this stuff. It has too big an effect on my heart rate. I'll be cheering on the Seahawks from my home or a favorite coffee place, none of which have TV.

Also, "!@#$# Microsoft" when Word keeps changing my numbering system and won't change it back. This comes out especially often when I'm drafting multiple-choice questions.

Are we limited to things said to someone we want to respond?
If so, it's "Have you read the Student Handbook on this?"
Or, "Do you remember signing a promise that you'd read the Student Handbook?"
I say other things more often, but not to the person to whom I would send them.

Susan Estrich left academia a long time ago, and she's been a partner in a big law firm. Unless she's got a family member who needs medical care that's not covered by insuranceβ€”which is a genuine problem in this countryβ€”I can't imagine that the extra money is going to make her happier.

Yes, it's not just this one. Roger Ailes. Leon Black. Both were sexual assault patterns of conduct. When did she go to the dark side, and why? I wonder about this generally: Why do Putin and Trump take bribes when they have more money than they'll ever need? Evil habit?

Back in the day, she was my crim law prof. She seemed like a decent person then, not that one gets to know professors well. I get that everyone needs a lawyer, but among all the people who need lawyers, choosing to represent this one is a choice. How did she end up doing this?
