This was an inspiring read.
A recurring theme throughout every chapter of her careerβ€”from Palestine to Darfur, Sri Lanka to Syriaβ€”is that the dignity of victims and survivors must be the foundation of any justice effort. That is one of the many powerful takeaways.

3. Embrace your ambition. When girls are young, they can be very vocal about what they want to be. But this impulse gets sort of hushed up, perhaps because for a long time β€˜ambitious’ was not a compliment for a woman. Be proud of your goals, of what you want to make of yourself.
