I told my own mother’s story last year on the BBC - when I brought her “retirement clock” to be repaired. They explained her story beautifully - and I know she’d be proud today if she could see it.

Women , who are still alive today, had to give up their jobs when they got married because of the Marriage Bar. They are then told by the state they don’t qualify for a pension because they didn’t make enough contributions.

This tv show needs to be mandatory watching in our schools - it’s recent history that explains a lot about Ireland. And why we are the way we are. The hold of the Catholic Church . The laws of the land.

Connecting @DublinAirport to other travel hubs (bus and rail) to allow ppl from airport to traverse across Ireland is necessary for the volume of traffic it’s bringing. Even just as an alternative to roads (which are jam packed) to get to city center it’s needed.

I agree the airport cap & noise are local issues. But I disagree that the lack of a connected rail link is also local - it’s a national problem
