I'm saying that as an expression of, I would like universal healthcare, but the powers that be are profiting too much with the current system to ever allow us to replace it with a better one.

We already pay extremely high taxes when accounting for things such as health insurance, Medicare, and the existence of both state and federal income taxes. If we had universal healthcare here, health insurance would become redundant. Because that industry owns our hospitals, we can't do that.
