I'm in a tiny village outside of Tomar...but the whole area is getting inundated with non-Portuguese particularly Americans. They don't integrate and I stay away from them as I'm an immigrant wanting to feel a part of the local community not like someone on holiday.

I live in Portugal and feel very welcome here. But I don't live in a tourist area and haven't caused the rents to rise and non-availability of homes for the local Portuguese. If I did then maybe I wouldn't feel so welcomed

As a Brit ( though living in Portugal) it is heartening to see demonstrations...I have seen very little criticism of this new "government" from Americans. I do hope this grows and is given the press coverage it deserves...but somehow I doubt it will get through.

So I'm here and so are others....somewhere....but I'm not blown away by Bluesky...does anyone have any tips to find interesting groups etc. It won't last without interactions and we'll all be back to the dark side.
