Bike-lanes don’t cause traffic congestion.

Car dependency, dumb land-use sprawl, too many (& bigger) cars being driven too much taking up too much space, highly subsidized driving costs, and not enough choices in how to get around, ALL cause traffic congestion.

Think about it. THAT’S common sense.

First time I ended up in Fairview on the bike, I couldn't stop thinking that I had seen way better/safer infra in some 3rd world countries; it just baffles me that people could think the new DVR is worse than before the redevelopment.

You're completely right, but the e-bike rules here are quite restrictive (and e-cyclists behave well here). I remember sharing trails as a pedestrian in Antwerp (Belgium) in 2019 with fast e-bikes who were going about 35km/h on narrow trails, next to slow car traffic; that was frightening.

I would even say that my 15kph uphill on Morris (with a line of cars behind me, cos I have to avoid the dooring zone) is appropriate, as long as we don’t get a bike lane there. 🤠

Their incompetence is very efficient, though. They keep getting away with all their shenanigans.

I just used it! I had to go against traffic in the opposite car lane though, wouldn’t recommend, but traffic was so slow it wasn’t too bad.
