Got to see Grosse Pointe Blank on a big screen finally at New Bev. It’s the movie Jonathan swept me off my feet with 10 years ago. What a good watch with a crowd on a much overdue date night for mom and dad. So inspiring creatively too.

People on the East Coast need to understand a few things: 1) LA is bigger than NYC in terms of physicality. It's enormous. Everything is very far apart. If your friends/family don't live in DTLA they are nowhere near where the Feds are wilding out. 2) For 99.5% of Los Angeles it is a normal Sunday. If you weren't paying attention to social media or the news you would have no sense of what it going on in DTLA today or what happened in the souther part of the county yesterday. 3) In terms of violence: it's been the Feds tear gassing and pepper spraying protestors and journalists 19 times out of 20. In terms of property damage: one regular car yesterday in Compton (which was weird, because Compton was down the road from where ICE was) and a few Waymos (self driving cars) today. The later of which is probably because 90% of people in LA are already sick of robots and Als taking jobs and those robots wound up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Worst part of that is probably anyone inhaling the battery fumes. No businesses being hit and no one has lit a cop car on fire like was done in 2020 4) Most cities see worse property destruction after championship games. No one calls out the National Gaurd for that. Word is leaking - so cite this as rumor - that the Feds are going to send the Marines. Again: for no reason. If ICE wasn't making a show of arresting people by sending out folks in tactical gear no one would have even known they raided the workplaces they raided. So the logical conclusion is that this isn't about immigration enforcement but of making a show of force. It's not anarchy here, it's bad political theatre.
