The top of the thread makes it seem like Protonmail themselves are having a nice chat with the FBI and reporting stuff directly, that's not what's going on. People are still mad, but it's odd to think that there's a magical country, in 2026, where nothing is tracked.

I feel like the framing at the top of the thread is *entirely* different than the framing here, and the distinction is quite important.

'Functionally provided' because their government legally requires the info and has a treaty to follow is VERY different then working with the FBI themselves, no?
