Took Sprocket out even though the clouds were covering the whole sky…and then they parted just for us! #BloodMoon

Social media created this nonsense idea that not exposing yourself to hatred is isolationist. Choosing to not spend your free time with bigots isn’t living in a bubble. I don’t need to know what’s going on at X. I won’t be smarter or more knowledgeable or empathic by being there. Neither will you.

Good start when the first sentence of your statement is a blatant lie…

Her husband wanted to use ChatGPT to create sustainable housing. Then it took over his life. Kate Fox says Joe Ceccanti was the β€˜most hopeful person’ before he started spending 12 hours a day with a chatbot

β€œIt’s difficult to understand the scale of the problem, but OpenAI itself estimates that more than a million people every week show suicidal intent when chatting with ChatGPT.”

I was watching a report the other day about the video game industry and how mobile gaming took over to claim the majority of revenue across mobile, PC, consoles, etc.

But…can a lot of mobile games even be considered games?

When they’re more like poker machines isn’t it really just gambling $?

Today’s swim is purely for fun, to reflect and say thanks. Last day to join in: superswim.org.au/jbau

But I highly encourage you all to get behind @heydaaaavey.bsky.social in March doing the Run For The Kids - keep sharing the love: runforthekids.gofundraise.com.au/page/David-6...

I genuinely did not expect anything like this. It’s been an important reminder to me that I’m often way more capable than I give myself credit for and that I have love all over the place. Thank you from the bottom of my heart - it’s been so heartening to have people be so kind and generous.

As of today I’ve raised $2300 and I swam 25kms.

I was genuinely shocked at all the kind people cheering me on - family, close friends, colleagues, people I haven’t seen in years, people all over Australia and the world.

Wearing my SuperSwim t-shirt and medal at the pumping my arms in the air

If you’ll allow me to be sappy for a moment. At the start of Feb I signed up for the Starlight SuperSwim. I thought it’d be a nice challenge, I could raise some spare change for a good cause and it’d be a healthy way to kick off the NY. My initial goal was $500 and my distance goal was 14km.

Yeah, I know. I’m queer. We do have to practice community safety measures. Every single day to protect ourselves and our loved ones. But we don’t magically have the ability and resources to manage 250,000 people at a public event while IS inspired/neo Nazi attacks are on the rise against us.

If Reform had won this, it would be all over our media as an β€˜unstoppable force’ and Hanson would be platformed as saying it was inevitable here. But no one ever treats a progressive win in the same way. That’s an β€˜outlier’

Okay but there is a huge risk to the queer community this year. So what’s your alternative? We have our own private army to protect us? I made clear I also have issues with the police, but there being no presence of anyone to protect us for a major event would be dangerous.

Almost feel sorry for the haters who are trying to spin Muslims voting for a woman in a party led by a gay Jewish man is evidence of Islamist sectarianism
In fact it's evidence of genuine tolerance, rejection of superficial identity politics and ability to prioritise tackling common concerns of cost of living, protecting public services and rejecting war mongering.
And the promotion of mutual respect and individual freedoms.
The coming together of people is terrifying for the ruling elites.

Totally this.

Not to mention, Australia’s Nazis are feeling particularly emboldened right now. It’s not a low risk year, even if no specific threat is currently in play.

New laws flagged after 'violent' attacks on gay and bisexual Sydney teens The New South Wales premier has flagged harsher punishments and new criminal offences in response to gay and bisexual teens being lured online and bashed on camera.

Well there is evidence of Islamic State inspired attacks happening on queer people around Sydney. The police have problems to resolve with the queer community, but an event at this scale for people currently facing targeted attacks needs some risk management www.abc.net.au/news/2026-02...

So, a lesson for Labour is that if you keep trashing your β€˜values’ to try and please people who actively hate you, while hating in turn those you should embrace and serve, you lose, badly. Adults in the room, eh?

Given that we're told that Muslims as a bloc are communalist, anti-Semitic, misogynist homophobes, you might assume voting for a non-religious white woman, standing for a LGBT friendly party, led by a gay Jewish man, might lead you to stand down all those sectarianism headlines.
