I've been thinking the same thing for the last day. As long as none of the story is copied, and there are efforts to make the game FEEL different from Infinite Fusion, I don't see any reason you could get in any trouble (more than any other fangame anyway). PIF can't DMCA over "Pokemon with fusion".

Yeah, there was a part of me that hoped I would feel positive and let my art remain after it was removed, but instead all I feel is disappointment. I didn't contribute a lot but this whole debacle was so hostile. Frog/Char needs a PR team.

A response to the AI dex entries by developer Frogzilla (chardub): As a follow-up about yesterday's post, I have added an in-game toggle to disable/enable autogen dex entries. By default, this is what you will now see when you look at a fusion that does not have a fusion entry. Merry Christmas to all of you, despite everything! Attached is an image of a Pokedex screen, with the text "No custom Pokedex entry available for this Pokemon. Placeholder entries can be enabled in the game's options."

I'm so done looking at this. I'm only looking at my removal thread on this Discord. This response is a literal slap in the face.

I kept an eye on the discourse today; conversation about AI keeps getting shoved to "game suggestions" where they then lock or EVEN DELETE ENTIRE THREADS. I was following one conversation and stepped away to deal with family, came back and it was gone. Suppression like that is sketchy af.

For what it's worth, Frog did make a comment on how he used the AI, and it's much worse than his moderators and himself are claiming.

One thing's for sure, though: I'm going to keep making fusion sprites. I just won't be contributing them to a project that supports A/I.

I didn't make a ton of sprites for IF but I'm definitely fighting to get mine removed right now. Here's a selection of my sprites; Gallade/Hitmonlee is new enough that it's not even in the game yet.

I had this talk with a friend the other day. He said that AI has come for creative work first, because it’s subjective.

And nobody cares that much, because there is a lot of distaste for the arts and entertainment world in this society at this time. But it CAN and WILL come for other jobs.

My posts in PIF Discord, in case they get removed or I get banned later. This is in Problems > sprite-errors per their listed process.

I've gone the route of asking very, very politely as I believe this world has too much anger in it as is. They have clearly stated in every thread they will not remove more than 10, and posted in my thread that they are "not taking removal requests at this time."

I'm incredibly disappointed and disheartened by this turn of events, and if I'd known about this behavior sooner I wouldn't have contributed as much to this project as I did.

I will go nuclear on this if I must. I'm trying the polite approach first. My contributions to Infinite Fusion are dead.

As someone who is suddenly very sure their sprite removal will be denied indefinitely, I'm interested in learning more of the process for filing a DMCA. Anything, even general direction, helps. Thanks.
