People can debate AI all they like, but surely we can all agree that anyone who owns or uses a pair of the pervert glasses that secretly record people should be ostracised immediately and totally from our society? I'm sorry but your pervert glasses prove you're a pervert! Get out of town!

The amount of events and festivals around the country using genAI for their promotional images is slightly maddening. All about supporting local, except their local artists.

Just saw a US general called 'Randy Manner'. Sorry, why are your military leaders named like Mills and Boon protaganists?

In trying to lean fully into the 'I'm hard' act, he has left us a line that is going to hang over what is left of his political career.

Love that the name works with the TMNT theme song.

I was going to make a flippant remark about that manager who's always carrying something but does nothing but he is literally performatively carrying a docment, cover to camera, in the photo.

If JOHN BOLTON thinks your plan to bomb another country is half-assed, man, you really done fucked it up

If you think you've had a bad day at the office, it could be worse; you could be the guy in Kuwaiti air defense who shot down about $300million dollars worth of US aircraft.

It sure would have been a boneheaded move to link renewable energy prices to natural gas with marginal pricing, right? ...oh God..

Got blueskyed for an obvious joke post that had the phrase 'Operation: Gigachad Thundercock' in it.

These dorks never take a day off.

Ireland will be so far down the global nuking list that we will suffer the indignity of knowing that humanity was annihilated for 'the sick memes' in something called 'Operation: Gigachad Thundercock'.

The Irish government is terrified about the major global consequences of the latest conflict in the Middle East; it might force some ministers to cancel their St. Patrick's day trips.

It has given me a real favourite line about a writer called Hester Lynch Thrale Piozzi (10/10 name) who 'A few months after her 18th birthday, she added a new entry (to her diary). In it, she listed every one of her "enemies outlived."

Perfect. No notes. Immaculate vibe.

There is a fantastic book that I'm reading at the moment about the 'forgotten'(erased) women authors of the period called 'Jane Austen's Bookshelf'. One of the best non-fiction books that I've read in ages.

We had a pair of them at my parent's house and every day one of them would try to fight its reflection in the family car's wing mirror. My dad had to start folding the mirrors in but the wagtail started slamming into the windscreen... not sure if he was trying to fight another wagtail or hated VWs.

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads:

The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.

And our governments are very much the same...

Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.

enough military power to force the Strait open again or watch oil prices spike and global supply be choked.
This is a major step for Iran; they have borded a ship here and there but the last time anything like this happened was during the Iran-Iraq war 40 years ago.

Report from Reuters that the Strait of Hormuz is now effectively closed after the Rev Guard broadcast to all ships in the area over VHF radio that " no vessal is allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz".

This was always the most severe threat from Iran. Either the US has to totally commit 1)

Apparently the ship has been at sea on active operations for 11 months straight and a chunk of the crew are tired of it and want to go home on leave.
