Rivendell as a sanctuary reminds me of the bountiful Śrīksetra Garden, described in the 7th-century Talang Tuo inscription of Sriwijaya kingdom in Sumatra. The king, Sri Jayanasa, established the garden as a sanctuary and for the "well-being of all creatures." 1/4
