( Jolting awake in his office. )

Perhaps I'll have them come with me later on, but right now, I don't have the heart to move them. They look /very/ relaxed on your couch right now.

( After a while of questions and explanations, Surlee heads to the kitchen himself. His tail sways back and forth energetically. )

Well, Paula, you've certainly found someone special. They aren't from Toontown at /all,/ much less the Brrrgh, so it's good that you brought them inside.

( nc ) now that I know the robot is safe I'm now switching into what the others call my "excited yapping mode"

Hello there. My name is Doctor Surlee.

( He slowly approaches, and they watch him just as closely. )

I’m a bit of an expert in robots here in Toontown. Paula called me over to take a look at you, is that alright?

Don’t worry, Paula, I’ll keep everything calm and quiet.

( He steps inside, taking a first look at the robot that was described. They’re just staring up at him, a mix of intrigue and nervousness in their expression. They don’t seem cog-like to him, but his guard is still up. )

I’ll be right there. Don’t let them out of your sight, even if they /are/ kind to you.

( The sound of him hanging up is heard, followed by the eerie dial tone. )

( That pretty much /instantly/ gets him to freak out. His voice stays level on the phone, though. )

I promise. What’s wrong?

( Surlee picks up after only one ring; he must be right at his desk. He picks up on her nervous tone immediately. )

Paula? It’s been a while since I’ve heard from you. What’s the matter?

( The tail slowly disappears behind the bush when the monkey realizes… but Mega /does/ get a nervous thumbs up in reply. )

( If Mega looks closely, he could see the orange fur of the tail just slightly past a bush, but other than that, the scientist is pretty well hidden. )

( His voice calls back very distantly. )

Yes, you can look now.

Thank you. Give me one moment.

( Pulling out his portable hole, jumping in, and popping back out at what he perceives to be a safer distance behind a few objects. Clearly, he still wants to observe. )

If you insist. I won’t push you to stay.
