I hit this before but don't recall the solution so I would try: force restore your nuget packages, verify engine, delete Intermediate and Build, regenerating .sln, reinstalling msvc, ensuring you have correct versions.

In my experience it takes far more intellectual honesty & courage than most people have for them to ever consider, let alone be convinced by, arguments or evidence that conflict with what they already believe.
