the lark putting on fake smiles. cole looks nervous, and can barely manage it. clemente is slightly impassive. kingsley is somewhat pitying. peregrine looks like they're barely trying.

oh jeez Maynard whats wrong (wip)

Quite a rough expressive drawing of chrysanthemums. A technique I have often used is to prime thick paper or card with gouache sometimes coloured and mixed with acrylic gesso. Then worked over it with oil pastels and then by rubbing more waterbased colour into this it can be persuaded to take ink drawing (with a dip pen) mostly using acrylic ink.

Another oil pastel over watercolour, this time with ink drawing over the top (see alt text).
