The smell of brewing coffee washed over me as I opened the door, thankfully clearing the rest of the river’s scent out of my nose. I looked around at the darkly painted walls offset by the bright tropical potted plants that stood in every corner and hung from hooks on the ceiling. A hand-drawn poster taped to a column near the door advertised weekly open mic nights on Fridays. The cafe was dotted with tables large and small, some with just a couple chairs around them and some with several. The far wall was lined with couches, coffee tables and cozy chairs. I knew in the evenings this place would be packed, primarily with teens looking for a place to decompress after getting kicked out of the hookah bar a block away (which was technically restricted to the over-eighteen crowd, but that never stopped the juniors and even sophomores from trying it anyway). But for now, the cafe was empty apart from an elderly man sipping his drink while reading the newspaper.

As they emerged from the door, a fourth figure followed: Henry. His ankle monitor was gone—whether removed officially or severed by the three figures in black, I had no idea. The four of them raced across the grass and over to the wall, where a narrow section of the wrought-iron spikes that surrounded the perimeter had been removed. In a panic, Nadin and I raced after them. Henry heard us coming, stopping to look over his shoulder. "Isaak! Nadin!" He turned back to the masked figures. "Wait! My friends—" The shortest of the three figures turned to eye us. "Hurry up! If you're coming, you need to make it fast!" It was a girl's voice, and it was impatient.

The rest of the text is as follows: Source identifiers are used to track your activity on a site. Where you came from, what device you use, and even who you talk to. Whether it's written clearly in the url or tied to a random string of characters, it's assigned to your activity. When you send a link containing a source identifier to somebody and they click it, it signals to the website that you two are connected. And that data goes right back to the website operators, and thus their advertisers. Whenever you select "share" or "copy link" on a social app or website, it creates a link like this. If you give even the smallest shit about online privacy, it's important to remove them. Everything after the "?" symbol can be removed without issue, especially sections starting with "si=" or "utm_source="

I had another direct store set up before, I just was *also* using Itch since it seemed like it might be better for discovery, but I do at least have a lifeboat! I was frustrated with Itch's learning curve, anyway, and then this on top of it

I'm not online enough to understand what's going on with Itch, I did just initiate a payout—should I take down that storefront after the money is paid and just stick to Lemonsqueezy, or leave it up?
