The struggle is real.

I like the push and pull of teaching and learning. Plus I kind of like the head doctor’s job of floating around and overseeing one thing after another, always keeping the plates spinning. I wish I had a job like that, without the trauma.

It’s also very early in the morning and I’ve had no sleep, unrelated to TV viewing.

But I like the show.

Dad’s dad was a tailor, mom’s had a complicated work history, though I know he drove truck for some time. Both were in WWII. My mom’s dad appears to have jumped ship in the merchant marines afterward and changed his name, all before he met my grandma. Wish I’d known him.

It is “or as needed” time for my seroquel dose and it actually seems to be helping. Started the day on high gravity, ending actually able to do some work and chart a course out of what’s become an everpresent sense of overwhelm. Even had a good meeting late in the day.

Then as I’m calling the non-emergency line a woman comes out of the house and asked if I saw anything. She was like, “Yeah, she keeps doing that.” Texted her my pics and went on my way.

I honestly feel very safe in this neighborhood but I get why some people wouldn’t.

Was walking in my neighborhood just now and heard glass breaking. Up ahead on the side of a house there’s a young woman yelling and throwing rocks at windows. A minute later she comes out and was like, “Did you hear something???” I was able to covertly take her pic as she wandered away.

From a clinical standpoint, I had almost no sleep last night and am engaging in unusually heightened levels of activity, which means it’s the melatonin in a few hours. Weirdly I would describe my mood as depressed though.
