…Work is often enough to mitigate the dark of winter and the SAD that goes with it. So I lean in.

Last week was such a wash between the migraine and the work rat that I did not get any work done beyond the most urgent stuff. But today I found a cafe with an electric outlet, good seating, & personal space, put on my noise blocking thingy, and answered much email. 💪

We have a rat. So I had pest control set up traps all over the building, but since there was no evidence this rat was interested in my office, we did not put a trap there. Skip to this morning, where my office is just absolutely wrecked. This has been a rough week, and I think I’m done now.

Today, after a meeting, I realized that the topic of the meeting was actually triggering me in a way I could barely manage, and I came to my manager and told her I needed to bow out of the project. She understood and the relief was immediate. I’ve never done that before.
