Last week, our co-Executive Director Rhena Hicks was part of a Health Equity conversation hosted by Health Catalyst with Senator Mark Warner. The panel discussed the need for increased workforce in healthcare and expanding access to affordable healthcare.

I started the morning with @teamfreedomva.bsky.social and my Virginia House Dem colleagues to talk about our affordability agenda, from housing to energy to prescription drug costs and child care!

These are meaningful bills that will help working people and Virginia families!

The Affordable Medicine Act, which would establish a Prescription Drug Affordability Board and implement the prescription drug prices negotiated by Medicare as a part of the Inflation Reduction Act, is moving forward in the House and Senate!

Last week we had an incredible Affordable Medicine Advocacy Day at the General Assembly! Thank you to all of the legislators who met with us and THANK YOU to the incredible Virginians who came with us and shared their stories about prescription drug affordability.

Last Tuesday, we gathered in the General Assembly Building to discuss the new Affordable Medicine Act, which would establish a Prescription Drug Affordability Board in Virginia and immediately adopt the prescription drug prices negotiated by Medicare at the Federal level.
