I found it easier as an audio book. I started out not liking it and by the time I finished I enjoyed the book. The writing style was an adjustment for sure but Iβd read another one like it

My pleasant surprise of the month was stumbling upon this audio book while searching for another Stephen King novel.
This book is humorous and super informative in a slightly macabre way.
Do yourself a favor pick this book up give it a try and learn a little bit about US history.
Thanks put it on my to read list! Heavy books are usually the most compelling for sure. The bean trees made me cry when I was a kid but it still sticks with me.

Have you tried any Philip k Dick? Do androids dream of electric sheep was adapted into the movie blade runner.
Ubik, flow my tears, and the 3 stigmata of Palmer Elderitch are my favs.
Also Ray Bradbury Martian chronicles.
View of the forest below a house
View from a widow showing steep drop off from house
View of water just below a dam with largish stone banks
The things I like most about my job are seeing a bunch of funky little houses, great views and seeing wealthy ppls houses.
This is the second house thatβs been perched on a cliff.

Cover photo of book βbirdseye; the adventures of a curious manβ by Mark Kurlansky . Picture is a man in furs standing a top a pile of frozen vegetables.
Birdseye is a super quick non fiction if you want something different.
Birdseye was an interesting man, inventor , naturalist & outdoorsman.
Thinking this book was just about the invention of fast frozen food & home freezers I was pleasantly surprised it was much more. #book sky #nonfiction
I had no idea what it was about when I started it as well. I really enjoyed it , it is a good book!

The horrors that were perpetrated on our native people is shameful. This book helps to bring to light the continual effort of christian religion and the American government to eradicate native people and culture.
Medicine river is an essential read . Where Bury my heart at wounded knee educated me on the dishonesty and geonocidal treatment of Native American ppl by the US government this book shed light on the disgraceful part christian religion. #audiobook #booksky #nonfiction

Just finished Hedyβs folly by Richard Rhodes a short audio book about Hedy Lamarr and her contributions to the war effort.
I enjoyed this book. It is unfortunate that she was taken all that seriously because of her beauty but at least in the end her contributions were recognized.
