What they want drives the plot, but what they need creates the emotional core.

The gap between these two creates internal conflict and a powerful arc.

Easy for writers, but GMs should discuss both with players to find depth.

I've been thinking about this poem by Langston Hughes recently and although it was published in 1931, it remains relevant as ever.

I do the same but it keeps circling around to the same topics and events. I document things even if they're just dreams lol. How do you break it down? I've tried many things but I think to much and over analyze everything

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I heard many writers who say just to keep writing. Then what? lol

I have USB's full of my writing and a stack of printed off ones. I also have writing books . I still can't get to the point. I get stuck in one area.

Things to remember if you're a first-time author:

✨ One sentence at a time is still progress
✨ Plotter or panster, every first draft is messy
✨ Progress doesn't always mean word count
✨ You do NOT have to write chronologically
✨ Always remember what drove you to write your story

I've been trying to write mine for over a decade. I've written at least 15 books all the same stuff but different way and different degrees of vocabulary and clarity. I would be happy if one random person bought mine. When I get it fined that is

I have a spreadsheet with different tabs. 1) all appointments and what I was there for 2) doctors 3) medications 4) imaging 5) bloodwork 6) surgeries . I have everything scanned and filed on an external hard drive. It really helps especially when I had to file for disability

I have hundreds of thousands of words that I have been writing over the last 15yrs. Having AuDHD sucks sometimes because I feel like my brain is frozen. I need to know every detail about a subject I'm writing about, then I end up down a rabbit hole for hours. #writer #frustrated
