How about a shift to some non-fertilizer based crop nutrient acquisition strategies (organic amendments, intercropping, bio-inputs) to free farmers from this agriculture welfare state being created.
New paper out on soil quality along an agroecological transition. Our findings show that transitioning to natural farming, even after just 2 years of removing pesticides and adding bio-inputs, had positive detectable effects on soil health.
