This is the one I got. Turn the knob when you're done and it'll filter and drain when the oil is cool, and everything but the heating element is dishwasher safe.

I got one that has a built in filter to drain the oil into a holding tank so it can do several uses for stuff like potatoes (not meat). It also makes it easy to put back into the container when it's time to get rid of it since the reservoir has a little spout on it for pouring.

Tooth pain, and dental work in general is the worst. I'm holding out until a root canal appointment of my own, and having to weirdly work around that tooth because the earliest they could get me in was next month, so I very literally feel your pain.
