Here's the deal: the one(s) proposing tariffs are so obscenely wealthy, they wouldn't feel the pinch if tariffs doubled the cost of all imported goods. Can the American family afford it? Without a doubt, they cannot and shouldn't be punished this way.

America....too soon (or maybe too late) you will realize what you've gone and done. These people want to end polio vaccines, abolish the FDIC? Just reading headlines these days is like plunging into a dystopian novel from which there's no escape. And sadly, it hasn't even "officially" begun.

The wealthiest 1% own Wall Street, control electoral politics and SCOTUS, but the electorate is focused on job loss to immigrants (scant supporting evidence), and transgender people in girls sports.

Talking with some friends about why we like to study history. My take: we know we lived through it as a civilization and somehow survived it. We yearn to discover more about ourselves as we learn more about those who came before us. And in the process, we gather strength to face what lies ahead.

I've been a journalist since Nixon was president and can say with conviction that there's no such thing as being completely objective or unbiased, unless a person is a non-thinker or a coward, or both.

I fear that our national nightmare is just beginning.
But then he said, "Our Constitution works; our great Republic is a government of laws and not of men."
This is what gives me hope.
