Watching We Need to Talk About Kevib and got to say, that kid has bad vibes. Wouldn't rush to talk about him.

Sick of being called a luddite just because I said repeatedly that the wheel is an impingement on God's design!

“And if you’re killed?” “Make sure you get it on camera” is also a stone-cold banger in fairness

Doing a hunger games rewatch and still not over the greatest line in the history of cinema, “…if it weren’t for the baby.”

The best time to get the US Military out of Shannon Airport was 20 fucking years ago. The next best time is now.

Surrealing in the Years: We've found out we know nothing about a lot of Very Important Things Maybe it’s a bad thing that we’re completely clueless.

“In fairness, we also seem to believe that over one-in-three Irish people are accessing social housing compared to the real figure of 9.2%, which begs the question: how much social housing do these people think that Ireland has?”

Here is this week’s column.

Four panel comic entitled SHARON THE FERRYMAN [Sharon is spelled with an S]. The first panel is an intro box showing Sharon's head (a skull with blonde hair) gossiping (text below).
The second panel shows Sharon asking, "So, you going anywhere nice on your holidays, love?"
The third shows her steering a bright pink boat across the river Styx, screaming heads with styled hair on bow and stern, ferrying someone with a neutral expression using a pole with a hairdryer on top. The boat reads "Sharon's Styx Styles". The background is dark.
In the fourth panel it zooms in again on Sharon's head, saying, "Oh right, yeah. Land of the dead."

Gossip text in box 1: "Goodness, you would not guess who came in the other day? Zeus, right down from Olympus. And no sooner had he gone than Hera stormed in, holding a dead swan and [text obscured] anyone had seen her husband [text obscured] I just couldn't be getting"

hades is a bit behind the times, ferryman is a gender neutral title

We all, quite rightly, talk about how great Emma Thompson's acting in this scene is but I can never get past how tiny her and Alan Rickman's bed is.

I don’t think my dad was even aware we went on these things. The telltale sign would, of course, have been all the permission slips he was asked to sign but, since he had 11 children, I remember long stretches of weeknight evenings during which he would listlessly scrawl his signature on sheafs of mounting paper, each proffered by us in the manner of scheming viziers presenting proclamations to a distracted king. Intrigued by such memories, I call my dad. He initially maintains that parents going on school trips wasn’t a thing in his day, before immediately admitting that it was, and that he never took part because, and I quote, “I saw enough of yous at home.” (This conversation also reminds me that, by the time I was in secondary school, he’d begun abdicating even his light admin responsibilities, by avidly encouraging us to forge his signature ourselves).

Going on one of my son's school trips reminded me that my dad never, ever did the same. So I called him up to ask why and don't know what else I expected.

my favorite thing about the benoit blanc movies is that they aren't really about benoit blanc. he is not grappling with demons from his past. we are not getting flashbacks to the husband whose murder he never solved. he just shows up and does his job like mary poppins for homicides

Scrooge's countenance fell almost as low as the Ghost's had done.

"So you and two others, Jacob?" he demanded, in a faltering voice.

"No. Three more."

"So four spirits" said Scrooge.

The ghost’s head dropped as it sighed. “Fuck’s sa
