I think some artists would say that's bad and you should study from real life, and I do sometimes nowadays, but as long as you try to understand how the art takes from real life I think you can get to the same place.

For me the fun came from doing studies of art that I enjoyed looking at. So that meant a lot of NSFW and anime styled art.

Experiment with your own style, find what you like, find artists you love and take what you like from them. Remember that all artists steal, but make it your own.

And as Pikat says, Fun before damentals. Make sure to have fun through all of this and celebrate your wins big and small!

Practice the fundamentals as well as the fundamental fundamentals. Line control, curves, line weight, to perspective, color, gesture, and a ton more.

After those first few months and sometimes before I drew my own things. They were very bad, but as long as you learn something it was a success.

For the first few months I started out just doing Master Studies of art that I liked. which is a fancy way to say I just did my best to copy it line for line, render for render.

Do your best to try new things often, to push yourself. And watch lots of tutorials and always have drawing on your mind.

Just realized she reminds me of a Void Lord from Void Stranger and I'm even more obsessed. The dark eyes and porcelain face are an aesthetic I can't get over.

I wonder if the pressure I feel in my head while drawing is cause i'm learning or if it's like... mild frustration the entire time lmao. or maybe it's just the feeling of thinking too damn hard all the time? Guess we'll never know.
