I’m proud of Congresswoman McBride for voting in support of the Charlie Kirk resolution. She made a strong argument for seeking bipartisan consensus in condemning political violence, particularly with the ongoing threats against the trans community. She did the right thing.

Elon Musk and several of the largest accounts on Twitter are doing everything they possibly can in this moment to focus the violent retribution people are braying for right now towards trans people.

It is IMPERATIVE to be loud ally right now and defend the trans community with our whole chest.

I don't want to hear it either, I swear.

I feel trepidation about taking too much from any one poll. Not saying to dismiss it either.

Rarely do you see a clearer admission that they see regular violence such as police violence as "traditional political violence," and therefore as acceptable.

“Right to work” laws are a total scam.

They silence American workers and keep them underpaid.

Murder is wrong.

Pogroms are wrong.

Using a murder to incite a pogrom against a small and vulnerable group in society is wrong.

(If I’m not mistaken, an assassination was the excuse for the wave of mob but state-sanctioned violence in Russia in 1881 that gave us the term “pogrom.”)

Fucking horrific to watch the governor, who is not an investigator, emerging every six hours to give live updates on whether or not the shooter was trans enough to murder your neighbors in revenge

I.E He's likely not left, and not going along with the narrative they are trying to build.

We are at the point in the honoring-Charlie-Kirk's-memory cycle when faculty are being fired for posting, without comment, Charlie Kirk's words. At the behest of politicians sworn to uphold the first amendment, and in public institutions covered by first amendment protections.

Not that we don't have out own internal strife makers but a lot of truth to this

to state the obvious, immediately leaking personal details to the press about somebody cooperating with a murder investigation is a great way to encourage people to not cooperate with future investigations

the way the right keeps obsessively trying to blame this shooting on trans people is deeply sick and incredibly dangerous, and powerful people and institutions turning a blind eye to it are complicit

just leave them alone

Had you told the me of 10 years ago, that Bill Kristol would be one of my favorite people in 2025, I would have been so confused.
