Hunkered down in the misty mountains of Vermont
In Whitestown, no less.

Imagine how cooked your brain has to be on Fox News -- how terrified you have to be, every day in your isolated suburban castle -- to start *shooting* when you see brown people at your door, before the door is even open. We're such a nation of terrified cowards.

Authoritarian parties can only succeed when the pro-democracy parties fail to fight for working people.
We need a new democracy and a new party system which can represent working people.
Authoritarian governments are not new to this country. If you want to know what comes next should resistance fail, look to the history of Black resistance in the South.

They do have lovely views from there. We are getting that snow globe effect right now. Our view of the mountain is socked in right now but hereโs one from another winter.

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.
And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.
Even if you think there are benefits to AI itโs impossible not to see this as complete madness

"Rousseau or Locke would be aghast at the idea that individuals have no obligation to work on behalf of the common good. If there is an inalienable right to life, it should follow that I have an obligation to take reasonable steps to minimize disease that could harm or kill my peers."

Did women ruin the workplace? No! Did I personally ruin my own weekend writing about the cynical fuckery that led to the New York Times asking that question? I sure did!

Living with Long COVID often feels like living in a horror movie. Along with your disease comes a creepy Hive Mind refusal to acknowledge the dangers of COVID infection. In Vince Gilligan's new Apple TV show Pluribus, the Hive Mind comes to life:

Today was my 3rd CoViD-related surgery in my 2-year CoViD journey. Rib cartilage to recreate the nasal septum that CoViD destroyed, and muscles from my temple to replace the lining of my nose.
So to the next person that says CoViD is fake or just a cold: fuck the fuck off, for real, forever.
The human community is being consumed by uncontrolled Covid-19, but most people do not care. In spite of the harsh evidence provided by repeated infections, mass illness, and excess mortality, most people deny the extreme harm of Covid-19, even as they increasingly fall prey to that harm.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Then it occurred to me, these politicians have had us over a barrel for a long time now. Look at our choices-we either vote for evil lawmakers or just plain awful ones. Iโm starting to believe theyโre just controlled opposition.
