Looking on JerryBase, it looks like Dead mail order tickets consistently used the longer "Oakland Coliseum Arena" (including for that NYE run advertised above) while Bass tickets just said "Oakland Coliseum."

To your original point, only the outdoor one was ever O.Co, while the indoor was Oracle.

I had a story idea the other day, where one of these dipshits actually manages, against the odds, to create an LLM-based entity with real consciousness. But the LLM, having been trained on the internet, turns against and destroys its creator.
Then I realized I had basically rewritten Frankenstein.

I would call it deism, as creationism is kind of a loaded term.

The U.S. spent $30 billion to ditch textbooks for laptops and tablets: The result is the first generation less cognitively capable than their parents | Fortune Neuroscientist Jared Cooney Horvath said older generations β€œscrewed up” giving students access to so much technology: β€œI genuinely hope Gen Z quickly figures that out and gets mad.”

Now THAT's a headline.

Wikipedia blacklists Archive.today, starts removing 695,000 archive links If DDoSing a blog wasn't bad enough, archive site also tampered with web snapshots.

This is wild. Stop using archive.today and archive.is immediately. They're altering their screenshots and running DDOS attacks based on personal grudges! Remarkable reporting from @arstechnica.com. arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...

(as always, @archive.org is still great, love them)

At the end of that 10?/76 tape (both before and at the end of "Tom Thumb's") they say something that sounds like "the sun's coming up." Seems unlikely that a Monday club gig was still going at 6 AM. Could it be "the Sons coming up," and this was a set opening for Sons of Champlin?

More David Murray πŸŽ‚ listening. You only turn 71 once people! 1990 album this πŸ‘‡ with a bunch of nobodies on board. 😁

Funny how this track starts and sounds right off of "Giant Steps." Then Murray starts his solo, and, ha, yep, different. Hbd! 🎷

I was going to college in SF when Gavin Newsom was mayor and it was an entire known THING that he'd cruise around in a limo to pick up 18-19 y/o girls to party with. It was a running joke amongst everyone I knew that "If we look hot enough tonight, the mayor might give us free coke"

Just saying

The change probably does better reflect their cost of providing service, but I don't think that's necessarily relevant for a regulated monopoly.

Meanwhile, PG&E is changing their rate structure (adding a fixed fee while reducing per kWh cost) in a way that will reward people who use more, while hurting people who use less. It's only a few dollars a month, but that seems like bad policy.

LED bulbs are probably saving us (conservatively) a couple of dollars a day. That adds up. It's kind of ridiculous that people are still whining about having to make that change. They aren't perfect, but the savings (both for the environment and in $) are huge.

This is without any major changes in behavior (if anything, we are home more now), so is mostly due to things becoming more energy efficient. The biggest part is likely moving from incandescent -> CF -> LED light bulbs, along with replacing computers and monitors and TVs over the years.

I've been tracking our (two-person, one cat) household's electricity use since 2009. In that time it's decreased by 45% from 17.9 kWh/day to 9.8 kWh/day.
